    1. Three attempts on your life in four days I m not surprised you re feeling emotional London born author Jaye Rothman made her literary debut with a zinger of a book THE HELL OF OSIRAK and though she now lives in New Zealand, she has worked on a kibbutz in Israel and lived in South Africa and spent time in Europe researching her novels Rothman is an inspired writer, fascinated by the espionage genre and frustrated by the lack in the literature of a credible female protagonist for this sector of wr [...]

    2. CJ looked momentarily startled as if she hadn t been expecting gentleness from me It is with such terse and meaningful sentences that Jaye Rothman builds up her mysterious and contradictory English cold war spy Nikki Sinclair, a tough and yet vulnerable female protagonist that keeps the reader the whole novel on the edge of his seat In the thriller genre, it s not every day that you read a novel that is story and character driven at the same time Jaye Rothman writes with expertise, as if she has [...]

    3. I ve read another book by Rothman in the past, and I remember being pleasantly surprised by her skill as a writer of spy thrillers, so when this one came back across my radar, I decided to give it another shot Nikki Sinclair is an immediate firecracker and after a few scenes of her whiplash wit and the sultry sex that practically drips off the page, I was hooked The plot, as I remember from Rothman s other novel Hell of Osirak, I believe , wasn t overshadowed by the erotica that so many other bo [...]

    4. After reading The Hell of Osirak I knew I couldnt get enough of Nikki Sinclair.Nikki is sexy, clever, tough and lesbian. Her dedication to her country and her battle with loneliness and her own inner demons is what makes her so endearing. This Cold War thriller is riveting, nail biting and well set in the scene.Begins in North Africa but mostly takes place in England.Nikki must put her life in danger again and again in the hunt for a Soviet agent who is killing Western scientists and East Bloc dis [...]

    5. Imagine, if you will, one of your all time favourite authors was still writing those novels you loved from your youth, but now setting the events a couple of decades after the original novels I m thinking Fleming, Ian Fleming, and his sardonic hero, James Bond No, I m not referring to the many authors who, spurred on by the success of the movie franchise, have taken on the mantle of updating the character for modern audiences I m talking about capturing the style and feel of the originals, yet, [...]

    6. I m intensely impressed by this novel from Jaye Rothman, for a number of reasons I didn t enter the novel totally understanding that it was going to contain erotic lesbian content, but I also didn t expect it to be such a damn good spy story either The author has really created an amazingly intriguing character in Nikki, and I can see why someone might want to base a franchise series off of her I think there is so much that can be explored in what is already a rich and fascinating character Her [...]

    7. I was surprised at how much I liked this book I am not a big fan of sex scenes, and this one had a fewbut, it also dealt well with action, with deep insightful thoughts, and with a woman dealing with PTSD, and living in a male dominated world.Nikki is a spy working with MI6.She is called upon for important and sensitive missions, and although her heart may occasionally get involved, she always gets the job done matter what I found this to be well written, and involving I liked Nikki, and could r [...]

    8. The author gave me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review Overall I enjoyed the story, but at times I had trouble following the story due to the language difference between the author s english and American english I love stories with the main characters being strong confident women I expected this story s main character to have those characteristics since she is supposed to be a high level competent government spy, but although she seems physically strong and well trained I found [...]

    9. Jaye Rothman s Murder by Umbrella is a gripping tale of murder, deception, betrayal and forbidden love This story will appeal to many It delivered on the above and took a great deal of my concentration to follow along, work out who was who, and what was going on I would call this erotic light There are a few scenes of lady love but they re far from graphic That said I read A LOT of erotica Copy provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

    10. I enjoyed this book very much I don t much like sex scenes too much either but I love the story line A women spy we need books like this I enjoyed the characters and the well developed story line The characters seems real to me and believable This book reminded me a little of Agatha Christie If you like a good lady spy book or just some mystery check this book out I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review
