    1. This story was short and quiet and gentle It seemed the kind of story where much was said in the silence between the sentencesif that makes sense It wasn t obvious and in your face, but subtle A friends to lovers with a difference I did feel sad for the wasted years though, but know that the years ahead should be than enough to make up time I liked the setting it was simple, like the story itself I like a change of pace in my reading sometimes and I found it with this book Thank you so much for [...]

    2. 2.5 starsThis was too short and too wish fulfillment it felt like someone was writing a little tale of how they hope it might occur view spoiler both men had a fling with the same guy in school, both have yearned for the other while years apart and rarely in contact, they jump into actual sex easily, both are instantly willing to come out no questions asked, hide spoiler while being a bit sketchy on the details they ve been friends for twenty years, but I can t figure out if they are young or ol [...]

    3. And the story continues in End of SummerI m happy to let everyone know that the sequel to this, A Family Christmas for Wake and Cody , will be out from MLR press on December 12th assuming all goes as it should And it is out A Family Christmas for Wake Cody Family Christma

    4. This is a very fast past story It is about two childhood friends who harbour feelings for one another but are unaware of it Cody fears telling his buddy Wake, because Wake has come off as a homophobic He fears his friend will beat him up if he tells him a he is gay and b lusts after him.

    5. Contemporary short storyCody and Wake have been friends since childhood, and once a year get together to stay in a family owned cabin for a long weekend to hunt Cody is gay, but has never come out to his best friend, who he fears is homophobic, but this particular weekend, after being stranded by a storm which crushes Cody s car, Wake reveals that not only has he known this for ages, but that he s not exactly straight himself I liked that the story had a bi character but unfortunately I never re [...]

    6. A short story but I didn t connect to either of the characters, to the point of having trouble distinquishing them at times.Hard to believe they re best friends when they know each other so poorly a lot of the dialogue felt stilted and they both go all those years keeping secrets, one fearing reprisals for it to get resolved so easily and with that reveal Didn t work for me.Not really relevant but I ve never heard the name Wake to me a wake is part of a funeral. It s not awful but there s nothing [...]

    7. NOTE I rate most writing event stories free reads 4 or 5 stars because of my appreciation of the author s participation and gift.

    8. Cody and Wake have been friends since childhood, but now they don t see much of each other except for a yearly hunting trip.Cody is gay, but not out, and he s been lusting for Wake since puberty But he thinks Wake is straight and afraid of what might happen if he told him of his feelings. But a storm cause them to be isolated in the hunting cabin, and Cody finally confess his feelings for Wake, and it turns out that Wake has feelings for him too. This had a good start, but when they got to the con [...]

    10. From probably homophobic to bi went awfully fast if they were such great friends how did they keep these secrets for so long However, I liked how it was resolved and the decisions they made in the end I would have liked to see the getting together on page though
