    1. The minute I saw the cover of this it brought me right back to my childhood My mother used to take me and my sisters to Kings Island all the time and they were all about the rollercoasters I remember being a little kid and crying on the Beastie, so there was no way in hell I was going to go on the Beast or the rickety wooden monstrosity that was the Son of Beast. As for the actual book, I thought that the synopsis on the back was very misleading The way it was written made it seem like some monst [...]

    2. One of the best books by Stine, one of my favorite authors What is so great about this book First, it takes place in Kings Island, a place that is 5 minutes away from my house And the Beast is my favorite ride It is the world s longest wooden roller coaster, and is definitely worth a ride Anyway, the Beast is actually said to be haunted, but not by a guy named P.D Walters or anybody that has perished in a park on the property, which there never was A very interesting and enjoyable read Any body [...]

    3. You can call me mad if you like but I thought this was a real pager turner and I m not being sarcastic I didn t think it was terribly scary but I found the story intriguing Really enjoyable

    4. This book is probably the best book I read as a kid I honestly want to find this book and reread it to see why I was so fascinated with it.

    5. This is one of the best kids books I ve ever read Even now that I m an adult, this book is still highly entertaining although like all kids books it s very predictable Stine is a great author he paints vivid images and yet still writes a fast paced book Plus, I used to work at Kings Island and Stein gives a very accurate description of the park and The Beast roller coaster You can tell he s really a roller coaster fan

    6. I read this as a child who loved RL Stine books and a fangirl of the titular roller coaster I loved it then, and still enjoyed rereading it as an adult.

    7. A great book I love Kings Island so this book was made for me It brings my fantasies to life when the two kids are locked in the park for the night The book also brings two of my other fantasies to life ghosts and time travel They heard about the ghost stories and secide to go to the Beast to see if it was true They make it to the Beast after being caught only to meet this strange, old man They are found by the guards, but escape on the Beast WHen they mske it to the end of the track they find o [...]

    8. This book was alright I guess I m familiar with R.L Stine from the Goosebumps series that I read when I was younger However this story about two kids getting locked in a amusement park after hours is along the same style Every chapter ended with a mini cliffhanger, which always made his books fun to keep reading and they re fast too This story in particular was very easy to predict from the start But maybe that s because if you ve read one R.L Stine book, you ve read all of his books There s al [...]

    9. James and his cousin Ashley are at an amusement park one night and Ashley wants to find out about the ghost that is known to ride the beast every night when everyone is gone So the two cousins get trapped in the park and have no way out, they decide to walk to the beats, and there they find the ghost After talking to the ghost for a while they rode on the beast and once they got off they realized that the ride teleported them back in time to when the amusement park was just built They have to f [...]

    10. I think I would have liked this book so much back when it first came out, when Paramount Kings Island was in it s glory days and I was just a kid who loved Goosebumps But everyone was reading it and I didn t want to be just part of the crowd That being said, I m glad that I read it It was interesting and a fast read I would definitely recommend it to children who like a good mystery and a good scare.

    11. I love that R.L Stine wrote a story about my favorite roller coaster My stepson wanted me to read The Beast to him after our most recent trip to King s Island It was great to imagine the park at night and what it would be like to ride The Beast on a dark and foggy night Overall we agreed that this is one of our favorite R.L Stine books, and are interested in trying to track down the sequel.

    12. This was my all time favorite book when I was a kid I was obsessed with roller coasters and R.L Stine so this was the perfect blend It is about two cousins who want to ride the Beast roller coaster at Kings Island only when it is closed only to find that the roller coaster takes them to another world I ve read this book a million times and would recommend it to any grade schooler.

    13. Reccomended by my kids as a good read for my book club s amusement park theme No wonder they obsessively read Goosebumps R.L Stine is a darn good writer I wish he d been putting out books when I was a kid, I would have gobbled them up This one was especially fun because it was set at King s Island It had roller coasters, time travel, ghosts so much excitement

    14. As a child of the 90s, two of my favorite pastimes were reading Goosebumps books and going to King s Island The sheer fact that these two things that I love are together in one book is thrilling, let alone the story itself It s so fun and nostalgic and it made me remember how exciting life was as a kid.

    15. I taught this was another well written book by Stine When you mix ghosts, a ghost story, curious kids, time travel and a roller coaster you can t go wrong It kept me interested from beginning all the way to the end I think even at my age some of these R.L Stine s books are still enjoyable to read

    16. This book was the book I did my first book report on in 5th grade I loved it I considered it my favorite book for a few years Of course the local flavor of it helped, but it was still a good book R.L Stine, the Goosebumps man himself wrote it Can t beat that.

    17. Not bad Pretty typical Stine story fairly predictable, with a few descriptive words getting way overused The climax, which consisted of a roller coaster plunging into the middle of a tornado, was an excellent scene.Worth a read.

    18. It was very slow then it started to get a lot faster The main character just had made the book worse.

    19. I always loved this book as a kid because I grew up practically right next door to King s Island, home to the eponymous coaster It s as good as I remember
